Tie It Up With a Bow

I am not a vintage snob.
Don't get me wrong, I love fine, classic vintage in mint condition with tags still attached.
But unless you're a billionaire, it is unrealistic to pay upwards of $300 every time you want a dress.
So, I thrift!

Today I found myself enthralled by vintage neckwear!
Here sported fantastically by the one and only, Marlene Dietrich!
Fantastic! So, for all of those Sarasota/Braadenton/Tampa bound thrifters. I paid a visit to the two locations of "Fabulous Finds" (aptly named). These stores are located on Orange Ave. in Downtown Sarasota between 10th and 12th. The one closer to 10th is on the right hand size, and the one closer to 12th is on the Left with a green roof. Excellent prices! Today I even found that the shirts for men and women were 50% off! Fab! Between the two locations I got a black and red hair scarf, a black lace wrap, a fantastic vintage apron (one of those adorable and sheer ones with embroidered roses), a black polka dot bow tie (pictured below), maroon, white and gray bow ties, (ditto), a half off black square neck shirt, and an adorable black pencil skirt with white piping accents, pockets, and buttons on the front!

In addition to not being a snob against cheap vintage, I am also not a snob against repro. I can recognize that there is a sense of romance in finding a truly vintage piece, however, I appreciate the effort of repro. Plus, sizing is so different now, plus its so hard to find vintage pieces for size 12 women, that I often have to mix and match repro with legit.

Alright, I'll get off my soap box. For now.
